1 What exactly does HostGuard monitor?
Your website's availability (HTTP/HTTPS), its response time, your SSL certificate's expiry, and the presence of a keyword you specify. If you install the health agent, we also track your server's disk, memory and CPU load.
2 How often do you check my site?
It depends on your plan. Checks are less frequent on the free plan, while on larger plans we monitor as often as every 5 minutes. You'll find the exact figures on the pricing page.
3 How do SMS alerts and the quota work?
For critical outages we send an SMS via SimpleSMS.hu. Every plan comes with a monthly SMS quota. If you run out of quota, we keep sending email alerts and let you know you've hit the limit.
4 What is the health agent, and what data does it see?
The health agent is an optional, lightweight PHP script that you install on your own server. It only sends us server resource data (disk, memory, CPU) and never reads content or personal data. You can remove it at any time.
5 Can I switch plans anytime?
Yes. Plan changes take effect immediately, and we prorate the charge accordingly. If you move up to a larger plan, you get the new limits and features right away.
6 How do I cancel my subscription?
Anytime, no strings attached. You can cancel the service with a single click in your account and keep using it until the end of the period you've already paid for. No notice period, no hidden fees.
7 Do I need a credit card for the free plan?
No. We don't ask for a credit card for the free plan. Just sign up and start monitoring right away.
8 Do I get notified when the site recovers too?
Yes. We don't just alert you when your site goes down, but also when it's back online. That way you always know where things stand.
